Welcome to Poland

Nalecz Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering of Polish Academy of Sciences (IBBE PAS) has received funding from the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) under the „Welcome to Poland” programme (call 2024) for a project entitled. „Strengthening the international potential of the Nalecz Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering PAN”.

Scope of project activities:

The following tasks will be carried out as part of the project:

  1. staff development courses, including language courses,
  2. Strengthening the activities of the External Research Projects Unit in terms of serving people from abroad,
  3. international study trips and participation in key scientific events,
  4. a series of one-day workshops with leading experts,
  5. the organisation of an international conference entitled. „European Forum: Biomedical Engineering from Research to Commercialisation”.

Implementation schedule:

 2025

  • Commencement of Task 2 activities: strengthening the activities of the External Research Projects Unit to cater for people from abroad.

2026

February
  • Open enrolment of participants for specialised training and external courses.
  • Opening of the call for participants for study visits to foreign partners.
  • Opening of the call for participants to attend international conferences.
March
  • Open enrolment for English language courses organised by the Institute.
May
  •  Opening of the call for project management forges organised by the Institute
June
  • First in a series of workshops with international experts.
September
  • International conference „European Forum: Biomedical engineering - from research to commercialisation”.
November
  • Second in a series of workshops with international experts.

2027

February
  • Open enrolment for the Institute's international communication courses.
March
  • Third in a series of workshops with international experts.
May
  • Fourth in a series of workshops with international experts.

Invitation to participate

 We invite all IBIB PAN employees - whether scientific, technical, administrative or support staff - to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the „Welcome to Poland” project.

The activities provided by the project support professional and international development through:

  • participation in training and competence enhancement courses,
  • language courses to improve communication skills,
  • study trips and conferences to get to know new institutions and research environments,
  • expert workshops, integrating knowledge and best practices in biomedical engineering,
  • participation in an international conference organised at the Institute.
