IBBE PAS presented research results at OHBM 2026 Annual Meeting

From 14–19 June 2026, Dr Nikodem Hryniewicz from the CNSLAB at the Institute of Biocybernetics and Biomedical Engineering PAS participated in conference organised by the Organization for Human Brain Mapping (OHBM) held in Bordeaux, France. OHBM 2026 Annual Meeting is one of the leading international scientific events dedicated to brain research and advanced neuroimaging methods.

During the conference, Dr Hryniewicz presented a poster entitled “Single-Subject HRF Optimization Improves EEG-fMRI Localization of Epileptogenic Zones”, showcasing research focused on optimizing EEG-fMRI data analysis in patients with epilepsy. The proposed approach aims to improve the accuracy of epileptogenic zone localization, supporting the development of advanced diagnostic methods and clinical neuroimaging applications.

The presented research attracted considerable interest from conference participants, including researchers from Europe, Asia and North America. Participation in OHBM 2026 provided an opportunity to exchange scientific knowledge, establish new international collaborations, and promote research conducted at CNS Lab IBBE PAS worldwide.

During the conference, contact was also established with a research group from New Zealand working on advanced MRI imaging methods, creating opportunities for future scientific cooperation.

The conference also provided an opportunity to learn about the latest trends in technologies used in neuroimaging research. Dr Hryniewicz held discussions with representatives of companies developing solutions for MRI and EEG-fMRI systems, as well as tools for presenting multimedia stimuli in studies involving patients. Participation in lectures and panel discussions also enabled him to gain insights into current recommendations and emerging directions in MRI data analysis and processing.

Dr Hryniewicz’s participation in the conference was supported by the Welcome to Poland project, which contributes to the internationalization of research activities at IBBE PAS. https://ibib.waw.pl/nauka/projekty/projekty-realizowane-w-ibib-pan-archiwum/welcome-to-poland/
