IBIB PAN's participation in the first Healthcare Datathon
On September 27–28, 2025, representatives of IBBE PAS: Paulina DUDA, MSc, and Raman PASLEDNI, MSc, took part in the first Healthcare Datathon event in Poland, organized jointly by MIT Critical Data, UCK Gdańsk and Roche Polska.
In teams of several people, we worked on developing and testing metrics for assessing the quality of responses of large language models (LLMs) to questions about multiple sclerosis (MS).
Collaboration among specialists from various fields—ranging from bioinformatics to medicine—has made it possible to combine technological expertise with clinical practice and develop solutions that support the advancement of responsible artificial intelligence in healthcare.
The event was attended by over 200 people, including 13 interdisciplinary teams from 14 universities and research centers representing 5 countries. Participants spent a total of 8 hours on workshops, analyses, and presentations. The program included 8 expert presentations and 2 panel discussions, and 3 language models were used for evaluation.
The event is co-organized by Roche Poland, the University Clinical Center in Gdańsk, the Medical University of Gdańsk, and MIT Critical Data.
The event is held under the honorary patronage of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the American Chamber of Commerce in Poland, and the Polish-Swiss Chamber of Commerce.
