The history of the Laboratory dates back to 1980, when Prof. Władysław Torbicz introduced the subject of ion sensitive field-effect transistors (ISFET) to the IBBE PAS. Depending on the properties of the chemosensitive membrane material deposited on the transistor's gate, sensors sensitive to different ions can be obtained. Currently, research is being carried out on the developmenf of: voltammetric sensors made with the use of own direct printing technology, methods of biofunctionalization of (bio)chemically active surfaces and microanalytical systems such as P-o-C (Point-of-Care) for determination of different types of bioanalytes including biologically active substances.
