Abstract

New techniques of decoding ancient DNA revolutionized our understanding of our past. I will shortly overview current methods of decoding old DNA data. Our connection to Neandertals and Denisovians, the origin of agriculture and the story of Indoeuropean conquest is finally understood. I will present mathematical models of gene spread in a population and the origin of Slavs and Germans.
