Description of research conducted in the Laboratory:

The Laboratory of Engineering of Nanohybrid Regulatory Biosystems: applies and develops modern techniques of nanobiomaterial engineering in the systems of regulation of biological processes to support or replace the functions of tissues or organs; anticancer or antimicrobial activity.

Work is currently underway in the following aspects:

(a) design of targeted delivery systems for therapeutic or anti-cancer agents; b) designing systems built of nanoelements with bacteriostatic function for cooperation with eukaryotic cells; c) the use of nanobiomaterials in systems supporting the directed growth of eukaryotic cells.

Scope of the research to be carried out by the employee:

The works to be carried out concern research on the systems regulating biological processes to support the function of cells or tissues, as well as anti-tumor or antimicrobial activity. This is related to preparation and characterization of biomaterials showing high application potential in terms of application in nanosystems intended, among others for the release of the biologically active agent; with the evaluation of membrane properties, and the construction of interactive scaffolds.

A candidate for the position of Graduate Researche Assistant should meet the following requirements:


Professional title of master's or master's degree in engineering in the discipline: materials engineering, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, chemistry, biology or related. Area of interest: nanobiotechnology, biomaterials.

Scientific/professional achievements:

Scientific achievements documented by at least one publication as well as internships in a biological or chemical laboratory are welcome


1. Required knowledge of nanobiomaterials, artificial organs

2. Experience in laboratory work (manual skills).

3. Ability to plan experiments and develop research results

  1. Additional requirements:

1. Knowledge of the spoken and written English language

2. Experience in the use of spectroscopic and microscopic techniques.

3. Teamwork skills

a. the list of publications (books, articles in journals, papers published in the materials of scientific conferences) as well as patents, patent applications and major research studies used in clinical practice,

b. the copies of two publications of own research in journals from the A List of the Ministry of Education and Science,

c. the list of completed research projects, including the sources of financing and the financial dimensions (e.g. research projects of the Ministry of Education and Science, projects in EU Programs, work commissioned by economic entities),

d. the list of projects implemented in scientific cooperation with foreign countries,

e. the list of national and international scientific societies and committees of which the candidate was or is a member,

f. the declaration of the candidate that in the event of winning the competition, IBB PAS will be their primary place of work.
